Reality TV star Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt are set to file for bankruptcy.
The couple have spent all their $10 million fortune on renting a $35,000-a-month Malibu house, six cars and $3 million on Montag's failed music career and cosmetic surgery. The pair are now unable to pay a $2 million tax bill.
Pratt, 27, told US Life & Style magazine: 'We were immature, worrying too much about the famous part instead of the actual business part. In hindsight, we shouldn't have spent any of our money, we should have been low-key and saved.'
The former Hills star added: 'We spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and I've looked into unemployment cheques.'
The recently reunited couple are now living in an apartment in the grounds of Pratt's parents' home. He said: 'I feel like I'm 14 years old again, my parents are my lifeline.'
Montag, 24, added: 'Spencer's parents go to the grocery store for us once a week and that's all we get.'
