The Smile singer was six months pregnant with her and boyfriend Sam Cooper’s first child and the couple have asked for privacy at this ‘deeply distressing time’.
Lily was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after suffering stomach pains but today her spokesman confirmed she had suffered a miscarriage. ‘It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,’ her publicist said.
‘The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.’
Allen started dating Sam in the summer of 2009 and the happy pair announced they were expecting their first child in August this year. Months later the pair confirmed they were expecting a baby boy.
